Orange County Public Library

The Public Library has 33 branches throughout Orange County. If you haven’t been there lately, you should check out the services they offer now.

Books

Yes, they still have lots of books. Your kids can get their own library cards and check out books. Can can even renew a book online!

Audio Books Online

You can now download audio books from the Orange County Public Library via the internet. Read the details at Free Audio Books at OCPL.

Research Materials

The library keeps research materials that you can use at their facility, and some that you can check out. Books, pamplets, videos and more are available for school projects and reports. My branch actually has a folder with information on each mission for the Mission Report that 4th Graders do in the public schools. It’s also a good place for teens to research colleges.

Librarians

The librarians are used to helping kids learn how to use library materials. This is a good place for kids to get used to asking an adult other that their parent or teach for help.

Homework Help

Tutoring and homework help are available at many libraries. Check their calendar.

Events

Storytime, movie nights, lectures and other events. The calendar shows upcoming events for all branches.

Summer Reading Program

Each week there are different activities to do. Kids bring their reading log to the volunteers, who give them stickers and prizes. This is a great way to add a little structure to summer and encourage reading in the bargain!

Teens can volunteer to work this program.
