Need a rainy day activity for kids? Looking for something to get the family out of the house on a Sunday afternoon? What about a fun safe way for teens to hang out together?

Bowling is a great pastime for kids and grown-ups. You can take a group of any size to the local lanes for a couple hours of fun. It's noisy, which kids always love, and it's at least a little bit physical, which is great for those days when the kids need to get the wiggles out.

When you have a group with a wide variety of ages, bowling is a perfect choice. Everybody can participate and have fun. For the younger set, you can have the bowling alley set bumpers on your lane. This way the ball will never go into the gutter.

There are fourteen Orange County Bowling Alleys. You can pick an older plainer (and less expensive) bowling alley, a newly renovated bowling alley with cool lights and decor, or anything in between.

Occasionally a city recreation department will offer a beginners class. Some of the bowling alleys offer something similar. They also have leagues for everyone, including kids, beginners and experts.

Many facilities offer children's birthday parties too. Kids have some time to bowl and some time to open presents and have a birthday cake right in the bowling alley.
