What could be more fun than a baseball game? Probably nothing! Baseball teaches coordination, speed, precision and teamwork.
T-Ball
Tball, also called teeball, is a version of baseball specifically geared toward 4 – 7 year olds. Instead of hitting a ball that has been thrown by a pitcher, the batter hits the ball from a stationary tee. As the players get older, they move up to coach pitch baseball, where an adult pitches the ball to the batter.
Youth Baseball
This is essentially the same game that is played in high school and college. There are baseball classes offered through recreation departments that are fairly relaxed and recreational in nature. Competitive leagues are also offered through Little League and others.
Softball
Don’t let the name fool you. Although the ball is softer and slightly larger than a baseball, it still hurts to be hit by one! Many girls leagues play softball rather than baseball. It’s also the game of choice for many recreational leagues, including grown ups.
