Assisted Living Facilities

Assisted living facilities are places where older adults live. Many residences consist of individual apartments and community areas. There is usually an activities director who plans events for the residents.

This is where kids and teens can help. Contact the activities director of a local assisted living facility to see if there are any services you can provide. They may have an event coming up and need young people to decorate and serve food. Or they may be open to your ideas, especially if you have a group of kids who would like to perform for the residents.

Kids can earn community service hours for the time they volunteer to help.

Each assisted living facility is different. If you call one and they’re not interested, call another. There are plenty of activities directors out there who would love to bring young people into their facility both to assist with work and to be young, energetic and fun!

Ages: All ages if parents come too. Older teens can often work alone.
